Travel Prep (Legally Blond Style)

This morning I began the day with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.  The mug I chose to drink from was a special one decorated with the Hungarian phrase "Boldog Szülinapot", translated as "Happy Birthday". This uniquely Hungarian mug announces CRUNCH TIME in the Ause household.

Today was my last full day in the United States for the next 7 months. Everything that I had to do, pack, buy and remember before boarding the plane tomorrow was crammed into one day, today.

Somethings on my list included:

- deciding what clothes to take with me
- last minute shopping
- collecting all of the necessary documents
- saying my last goodbyes
- getting my hair cut
- visiting the dentist
- and of course .... fitting everything into one suitcase, one backpack and a purse

Delta Airlines allows me 1 - 50-lb suitcase for free. With Grace, a dear friend's, advice and support and my (required) willingness to leave many things behind, I successfully fit clothing and shoes for 3 seasons, the necessary toiletries for all 7 months and special gifts from America into the allotted space. Despite spending the majority of the day wanting to rip the newly-cut hairs from my head, my suitcase weighs 50 lbs, my backpack is small enough to be considered a carry on and I still have room in my purse.

This is the real reason ping pong tables were really made, right?

Real Life Tetris

Yikes! Am I really this much of a girl?
Oh well...
Look out Europe! Here comes Emily Ause, Elle Woods style.

Please be praying for good flying weather, alertness of the plane staff, on time departure and arrival of all planes, and peace and excitement about the beginning of this new chapter in my life.

Love you all and thanks for reading!

Blessings,

Emily
