As I finished up the last of my final exams yesterday...
what has been a blurry future for years is quickly coming into focus.
In less than 4 weeks I will be flying over the Atlantic Ocean one more time to return to the place I love to call home.
This time... I hope to experience this country and continent in ways I never have before. To let God work through my love for traveling and bring glory to His name in the process. I look forward to the ways God is going to teach, grow and wrestle with me these next few months.
This journey will introduce new experiences while reminding me of old ones:
I start by re-opening this blog that I started 5 years ago to document my travels. I look forward to comparing and contrasting these new stories to the ones from my summer vacation in Hungary during high school.
I will be enrolled in a Hungarian language class, two Central European cultural classes and two business classes. Along with receiving credit at Hope College, these courses will develop my Hungarian communication skills, teach me about European history and help determine if business is a passion I desire to pursue further in the future.
I have been blessed with an internship in structural engineering where I plan to work part time during the school year and possibly into the summer.
I have already made plans with friends from Hungary and Hope to travel to Ireland, Spain, Italy and Greece along with taking various weekend trips to see new parts of Europe and visit friends who live in Hungary and countries nearby.
As much as this semester will be full of wonderful memories it will also bring many hardships. I hope to continue growing in my faith and discovering daily the plans the Lord has for me.
I hope you find joy in reading about my adventures and learning along side of me as I embark on this journey that brings butterflies and giddy nervousness. Please feel free to comment on these posts so that I can stay in touch with all of you throughout our semester apart.
Love you all!
Emily
