Home Sweet Ipar Utca (Ipar Street)

I have arrived at my new home for the next semester!

It is just as beautiful and welcoming as I remember, which entirely has to do with the kindness of the Kántor family who lives here, but it is a wonderful apartment too. I will be living with Judit, my sister from another mother, her parents, Ágota and Tamás, and her brothers, Kornél and Barnabás. I have known them my entire life considering that Ágota and Tamás have been friends with my parents since before I was even thought about. They are wonderful people and I am blessed to be welcomed into their home.

I share a room with my dear sister, Judit, in which she has been more than generous in giving me her bed for the next month. She graciously moved up to her loft to sleep on a mattress there.

Here is their kitchen and eating area. We eat here when there is a small group of people.

However, on Sundays when the family has a big lunch together after church or when a large group of people get together for a party/meal they will use their dining room table in the living room. The office is to the right behind the door and Judit's parents sleep in the loft above.

This is their main hallway that connects everything in the house together. Just look how warm and welcoming it is.

This is their foyer. I love all the beautiful plants and wonderful colors. Ágota has always been incredibly skilled at growing gorgeous plants in the house. Maybe she can teach me.

This is the family room where we watch TV and play Canasta. I love Ágota's decorating style and eye for colors. Judit gave Barnabás a new dart board for his birthday so we will be playing that a lot. They already have a list of record scores.

The first night that I was here we ate mézes mustáros csirke és rizs (honey mustard chicken and rice). Judit made it and it was absolutely delicious. Surprise...she used honey and mustard....NOT honey mustard! What talent!

Anyways, I already feel so at home here and look forward to calling it so for the next long while.

Puszi (kisses),

Emilia
